Six years in, the Miles Neighborhood
One Can A Week program still stands strong
As the economy improved, the average food donation poundage declined from 201 lbs. to 180 lbs. per week in 2014, but the cash donations held steady. However, the most amazing aspect of the program is people are still deeply engaged even after 312 straight week of participation.
From January 2009 to now the food donations to the Community Food Bank amount to 69,226.5 lbs. The cash totals $15,835.03. We're taking care of thousands upon thousands of hungry parents and their kids, that's for sure.
See you Sunday,
Peter
